UNP Welcomes Benchmarking Visit From West Java Province BBGP Counseling Team

Padang – Universitas Negeri Padang (UNP) welcomes a visit from the West Java Province BBGP Counseling Team which aims to do a benchmarking related to counseling services at UNP, Monday (19/8/2024) SPI Session Room 3rd Floor, UNP Rectorate Building.

The Chairperson of the Institute for Educational Development and Strategic Task Executors (LP3S) UNP Prof. Dr. Jamaris, M.Pd. warmly welcomed the BBGP Counseling Team of West Java Province and also explained counseling services at UNP to the West Java Province BBGP group led by Dr. Asep Zuhara Argawinata, M.I.Kom. and several other team members.

“I hope this meeting is not just limited to this. Hopefully in the future we can work together to help each other advance the world of counseling in Indonesia,” he said.

Prof. Jamaris further revealed that currently UNP continues to strive to develop the Guidance and Counseling Service Center at UNP with one of the latest breakthroughs presenting online counseling guidance through applications. It seeks how distance does not become an obstacle for someone to consult.

“Yesterday we tested it, this is not only for the UNP big family but also for the general public. So that when a student at night suddenly panics. They can directly contact counseling services,” he added.

Meanwhile, the Head of Guidance and Counseling Service Center Dr. Yarmis, M.Pd, Kons. also shared about the programs implemented by the UNP Guidance and Counseling Service Center as well as a number of facilities owned.

Dr. Asep also said that the main purpose of this visit was to establish friendship, conduct comparative studies, and learn many things related to counseling services. “I also hope that there will be cooperation in the future and hope that UNP can be a resource person for future activities,” he added.
