Padang – Indonesian Accreditation Agency for Higher Education in Health visited Veterinary Study Program, Faculty of Medicine (FK) Universitas Negeri Padang (UNP), Tuesday evening (5/12/2023).
The Chief Assessor of AAHEH, Dr. drh. Hapsari Mahatmi, MP and Dr. drh. Yusuf Ridwan M.Si were welcomed directly by the Rector of UNP, Prof. Ganefri, Ph.D in the Senate Meeting Room of UNP Rectorate and Research Center Building.
Prof. Ganefri in his speech at the Veterinary Study Visitation Discussion explained that one of the aims of establishing the UNP Veterinary Medicine Study Program was to meet the needs for human resources in West Sumatra considering that there was no Veterinary Medicine Study Program at universities in West Sumatra.
“This proposal also has full support from the West Sumatra Regional Government and Bukittinggi Government,” explained the Rector.
He also mentioned that it was in line with the high level of interest in this study program. “We have conducted a survey of high school students in Bukittinggi. It is found out that more than 900 students are interested in continuing their education in the Veterinary Study Program,” he explained.
Meanwhile Dr. drh. Hapsari Mahatmi really appreciated UNP preparations in establishing the Study Program. He also hoped that the establishment of the UNP Veterinary Medicine Study Program will be colouring West Sumatera Education and it was very strategic plan for the province.
“Congratulations to UNP Veterinary Study Program. Hopefully, the hopesĀ and spirits of the Rector, colleagues of the Faculty of Medicine and Task Force Team can be realized soon,” he added.
On that occasion, the Faculty of Medicine Task Force Team also had the opportunity to present the profile of UNP Veterinary Medicine Study Program which was delivered by Dr. dr. Zuhrah Taufiqa, M. Biomed.
The Chairman of the West Sumatra Branch of the Indonesian Veterinary Association, the Head of the Veterinary Hospital, the Head of the Animal Husbandry and Animal Health Service of West Sumatra Province, the Deputy Chancellor of the University Secretary, the Director of the Postgraduate School, the Director of the Vocational School, the Head of the Institution, the Head of the Bureau, the Head of Agency, Head of UPT, Chair of SPI, Head of Center, Head of Offices, throughout Universitas Negeri Padang, as well as the Faculty of Medicine Task Force Team were also attending the discussion.
