UNP Held A Classical Counseling Service: Focus On Enhancing Family Resilience To Optimize Employee Performance

On Tuesday, July 30, 2024, the Guidance and Counseling Service Center-LP3S of Universitas Negeri Padang (UNP) held a “Classical Counseling Service” with the theme ” Enhancing Family Resilience for Performance Optimization for Education Personnel of Universitas Negeri Padang.” This activity was held in the FMIPA UNP Hall and was attended by all education personnel and UNP employees.

The event was opened by UNP Vice Rector 3, Prof. Dr. Ir. Anni Faridah, M.Si. In her speech, Prof. Anni explained that family resilience is an important aspect that affects the performance of UNP employees. According to her, with good family resilience, employees will be more optimal in carrying out their duties and responsibilities in the work environment. This is in line with UNP’s vision to create a productive and harmonious work environment.

The Chairperson of LP3S UNP, Prof. Dr. Jamaris, M.Pd, in his speech said that this activity is a form of UNP’s attention to the family resilience of its employees. He emphasized the importance of institutional support for the personal aspects of employees, including in terms of family, to create a healthy and conducive work environment.

Dr. Yarmis Syukur, M.Pd., Kons, Head of UNP BK-LP3S Service Center, also added that this activity is one of the UNP BK-LP3S Service Center programs in an effort to improve the family resilience of UNP employees. According to him, with good family resilience, employees will feel more comfortable at work and can provide their best performance.

This activity presents two speakers who are competent in their fields. The first speaker, Mr. Nursal, S.Ag., M.Sy, who is the Chairperson of the Padang Religious Court, presented material entitled “Problems and Strategies for Maintaining a Happy Family in the Era of Technology, Information, Religion, and Socio-Culture.” In his presentation, he explained the various challenges faced by families in this modern era as well as strategies to maintain family happiness.

The second speaker, Dr. Yeni Karneli, M.Pd., Kons, lecturer at the Department of Guidance and Counseling, Faculty of Education, Padang State University, delivered material on “Family in the Digital Age: Solutions in Facing Advances in Information Technology.” She discussed how families can adapt to advances in information technology without losing important family values.
