Increase Graduate Competitiveness, Management Study Program FEB UNP Holds OBE Curriculum Updating Workshop Merdeka Learning Campus Merdeka
Padang – The Management Study Program of the Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB), Universitas Negeri Padang (UNP) conducted an Outcome Based Education (OBE) Curriculum Updating Workshop on Saturday (3/8/2024).
Based on a written information that was received by UNP Public Relations, Tuesday (6/8/2024), the event was opened directly by the Dean of FEB Prof. Perengki Susanto, SE, M.Sc, Ph.D. According to him, this workshop is very important to answer various changes that occur in the industrial world so that it is hoped that the curriculum offered by the Department of Management can produce competitive graduates.
The same thing was also conveyed by the Head of the Department of Management Dr. Syahrizal, SE, M.Si. He hopes that through this workshop, changes to the 2024 Management Undergraduate curriculum can be disseminated to all management department lecturers. Not only that, he continued, this workshop is expected to remind, strengthen the understanding of senior lecturers about the concept of OBE learning and for young lecturers, to know and understand this learning concept used in teaching and learning activities in the S1 Management study program.
“Through this workshop, the course coordinator and each team member were also agreed upon. This will make it easier for young lecturers to recognize and communicate with senior lecturers who are experts in the subject. Finally, this workshop aims to produce a uniform RPS for each course according to the updated curriculum. Previously, the RPS circulating among lecturers were different and not uniform,” he added.
Meanwhile, the Head of Sub-Directorate of Learning Innovation and MBKM, Dr. Nofrion, M.Pd. as a resource person in the activity said that to produce graduates who have good competencies, a good educational process is also needed. This process is closely related to the learning process in it, and this is one of the reasons for the development of the Outcome-Based Education (OBE) curriculum.
“Outcome-Based Education (OBE) is also an approach that emphasizes the sustainability of the learning process in an innovative, interactive and effective manner.
