Faculty Of Language And Arts Lecturer At Padang State University Completes Training In Japan
PADANG – Suciaty Prisyati, S.Hum., M.Pd., a lecturer of the Japanese Language Education Program, the Faculty of Languages and Arts, Universitas Negeri Padang, has successfully completed her training at the 5th Hiroshima Prefecture Overseas Japanese Teacher Training Program in Japan from October 4 to November 29, 2023. The training took place at the Hiroshima International Center, Higashi Hiroshima, Japan, organized by the Hiroshima Prefecture Government and the Association for Japanese Language Education Studies in Indonesia. Suciaty shared this information with the journalists from the beritaminang.com on Thursday (7/12) afternoon via her mobile phone.
Suciaty explained that the program aims to develop human resources for Japanese language instructors in developing and friendly countries, especially in the Asia-Pacific region.
“This program also aims to further promote student exchange programs between Hiroshima Prefecture and target countries (regions), as well as to promote the acceptance of international students in Hiroshima Prefecture. Therefore, this program invites foreign Japanese language instructors from abroad to Hiroshima Prefecture,” added Suciaty.
Furthermore, Suciaty added that the program also seeks to improve Japanese language teaching methods and language proficiency, and to provide an understanding of the learning environment in Hiroshima Prefecture to Japanese language instructors.
According to Suciaty, there were four types of activities carried out, including Refinement of Teaching, Japanese Language Application, Japanese Cross-Cultural Activities, and Introduction to Life and Study in Hiroshima Prefecture.
The Dean of the Faculty of Languages and Arts at UNP, Prof. Dr. Ermanto, S.Pd., M.Hum., congratulated Suciaty and expressed hope that the training materials acquired in Japan could be shared with lecturers, students, and teachers in West Sumatra.
