Department Of English Language And Literature Holds Research Collaboration Workshop

The Department of English Language and Literature, Faculty of Languages and Arts (FBS), held a Collaborative Research Workshop with other University Lecturers, which was held offline and online at the FBS UNP Air Tawar Padang Campus Auditorium on Wednesday (31/1/2024).

This collaborative research workshop, attended by lecturers from the Department of English Language and Literature, presented by Prof. Dr. Octavianus, M. Hum. (Lecturer at Andalas University), Prof. Dr. Sugiyono, M.Pd. (Lecturer at Yogyakarta State University), and Prof. Madya Dr. Shanthini Pillai AP Joseph Sandra (Lecturer at National University of Malaysia).

Chair of the Workshop Dr. Hamzah, M.A., M.M., in his speech re, ported that lecturers from the Study Program at the Department of Indonesian Language and Literature, FBS, Padang State University, attended this workshop.

On that occasion, the Head of the English Language and Literature Department, Dr. Yuli Tiarina, M.Pd., expressed his thanks to the resource persons, both offline and online.

“With this workshop, it is hoped that we can increase the number of research proposals from lecturers in the Department of English Language and Literature, FBS, Universitas Negeri Padang for the future,” added Dr. Yuli Tiarina, M.Pd.

Likewise, the Dean of the Faculty of Languages and Arts, Prof. Dr. Ermanto, S.Pd., M.Hum. When opening the workshop, he said there are many opportunities for research grants, both with UNP funding and with national and foreign funding.

“In 2024, research grants with DRTPM funding will increase in number, including collaboration between DRTPM and LPDP,” explained Prof. Dr. Ermanto, S.Pd., M.Hum.

Apart from that, said Prof. Dr. Ermanto, S.Pd., M.Hum., this year’s research grant is also funded by RKI in collaboration with PTNBH University in Indonesia.

“Information from LPPM, there is further research funding from Universitas Negeri Padang Internal Affairs and collaborative research funds from LPTK University,” explained Prof. Dr. Ermanto, S.Pd., M.Hum.

Said the Dean, Prof. Dr. Ermanto, S.Pd., M.Hum. for this reason, let’s increase the number of research proposals, especially from the Department of English Language and Literature and other departments at FBS. (ET)
